‘National Standards’ Plans Sex-Ed in Kindergarten

A report backed by a large of advocates, including the nation’s largest teacher’s union, is advocating “national standards” for sexual education and gender identity training begin as early as kindergarten and continue throughout a child’s education. CNSNews.com reports,

By the time they leave elementary school, children should be able to “define sexual orientation,” and by the eighth grade be able to “define emergency contraception and its use,” according to a report containing controversial new recommendations for sex education in U.S. public schools.

“Ideally, comprehensive sexuality education should start in kindergarten and continue through 12th grade,” says the “National Sexuality Education Standards” report, drawn up by a range of advocates, academics and public education officials.

The Future of Sex Education (FoSE), an initiative started by sex education advocates, developed the standards “to create a strategic plan for sexuality education policy and implementation.”

Also involved are the American School Health Association, the National Education Association Health Information Network – the non-profit arm of the nation’s largest teacher’s union, the NEA – the American Association for Health Education and the Society of State Leaders of Health and Physical Education.

An advisory committee includes senior officials from Planned Parenthood and the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN).

    Okay, all of you who have never stood up to tyranny, your beliefs, morality, ethics, make yourselves heard by sending letters, faxes, etc to your Congressman, President, schools, etc. If this goes any further go to all of the meetings held by schools, county, etc. make yourselves heard. Visit your school on health education day. See for yourself what they are teaching. If they are not teaching the appropriate lessons of reading, writing and arithmetic, take your children out of that school and then homeschool or send them to a private school. Our leaders must be held accountable to the people they serve, and above all be registered in advance to vote the irresponsible people out of office while we still can. Fight for God and country.

    This decision is ludicrous! Sexual education is a parental responsibility. You don’t need 12 years of sex education to function as an adult. Perhaps a bit during a health class would be appropriate but not 12 years. Most of us function quite well without this nonsense.

    Does “exploitation of a child” mean anything? Child Pornography? I mean, seriously people, this is SICK. Might as well legalize child porn, underage sex and sexting. Hell, why even have statutory rape? Why not let Polygamists have their 15 year old wives, and let 10 year olds choose sexual partners.

    People, it is time that WE THE PEOPLE took back our country. This is the last straw. It ends now.

    The way things are going in liberal-land, it’s time for conservative, moral minded parents to pre-load their children’s brains with the morals and beliefs that the parents want them to have as a defense to the liberal, immoral garbage that their kids will be confronted with.
    Arm your kids with your beliefs before sending them to school, and make sure to keep the conversation going throughout their school years.

    This is discusting – We really need to get rid of these unions, and panels, and whoever thinks this is a good idea. Lets let the kids be kids at least through elementry school. We need physical ed in schools, NOT sex ramed down their throats. Come on Parents, lets do something about this immoral idea.

      We must write letters and phone our representatives and senators (many times) and let them know how we feel about this “disgusting” idea to start teaching little ones about sex. If enough People will do this, our elected officials will get the idea that we do not agree with Kindergarten sex education. If nothing is said, Congress will think it is a fine idea and go along with the idiots who dreamed up such a plan. This is one point that I do agree with Ron Paul: Get rid of the Department of Education and get Education decisions back to the States and The People!

    This is just plain sick! The only kindergarten kids that are having sex are the ones that are being molested. The rest of them don’t need to be exposed to it at such tender ages. As far as gender issues… They already know if they’re male or female and are just learning about themselves. Whatever they decide to be when they’re older, there’s no reason to confuse them while they’re little. Let them keep their innocence as long as possible. There’s no reason to add this junk to their lives until they’re older and HAVE to deal with it.

    Those people who are pushing for sex ed for young children are perverted people……they are fulfilling the agenda for the child rapists who advocate sex
    with children. These schools are doing their bidding to prepare children to lose
    their innocence, and be easier to vicimize….as if it isn’t already too easy to victimize
    children in our evil world.
    We need much stronger punishments for those who molest and rape children!

    Just another government intrusion. The only thing schools should be teaching is education. It is not their job to thrust upon us any cultural or social issues. It is just their job to teach and to promote us into being better people. I am somewhat glad that they teach us about our bodies when we are older, but young children should not be influenced. I know a lot of parents don’t do a very good job, but neither do the schools.
    This is exactly why our education system is so expensive. But it is not their job to teach us morals, and especially kids as young as elementary. Just let them be kids for goodness sake.

    If I had young children today of school age, I would be home schooling them. What a bunch of idiots we have running the school systems. Whatever happened to letting the parents taking care of sex education the way they think is right for their children and the school teaching them how to read, write, and do math. We are dumbing down our children. There is no way they will be able to functioin in a global world because they are not learning what they need to compete.

    People making comments here most likely got home schooled. There is a HUGE lack of understanding of Socialism, Communism, and Marxism. Most people leaving comments don’t even realize Obama’s more of a left-leaning corporatist, while most Republicans are hard-right leaning corporatists. This article doesn’t even discuss what they’re going to teach children as far as sex ed and all you conservative perverts are automatically assuming their going to teach your kids to have sex. In a society where children are having children at a young age and the abortion rates being so high in the most religious parts of our country like Texas I’d assume you’d want your kids to be more informed. Instead, I see people spouting ignorant conservative rhetoric when they don’t even have all the facts.

    I don’t wanna live on this planet anymore. Seriously, you people are so dumb.

    The people leaving comments are completely divorced from reality. They live in a world where they listen to everything political pundits and religious organizations spout without discussing anything that’s really afflicting our society. There’s kids who have gender identity issues, issues with sexual orientation and confusion about their place in the world while dealing with these issues. Sometimes these problems start at a very young age without any support from family because they’re afraid of being ostracized by PEOPLE LIKE YOU. Where religious organizations and parents like you teach them that being gay is a disease and they should hate themselves for feeling differently.

    On other issues we have kids who don’t know simple biological process of reproduction because to you fools, “Teaching kids about pregnancy, reproduction, and methods of contraception equates to teaching them to have intercourse.” That’s how pervert something as beautiful as reproduction and paint it ugly while at the same time insulting your childs intelligence by keeping him in the dark. This whole Victorian ideal of avoidance and keeping them in the dark because of your own ignorance and lack of depth about the simple subject of understanding your body.

    You people disgust me, again this article doesn’t even discuss what they plan on teaching and you’re already completely butt-destroyed.

      The reason the kids are confused these days is because they are being told it is ok to be gay. And that goes against the pure nature of things.
      Like you said, these days kids today are confused. Notice that back then there was not issue with it because kids were taught that boys are to be boys and girls are to be girls. Nothing confusing about that at all. No wonder kids are confused today. Because of adults today teaching a 5 year old about being gay is ok.

    Lets see. The schools teach sex education to young teens but that doesn’t seem to help with the pregnancy problem. What makes you think teaching 5 year old about sex will help. To the contrary. It seems like the more schools teach about sex the more kids get pregnant and the more experimental gay lifestyles are happening.
    If you want your kid to cuss, do drugs, fight, and learn how to have sex then send them to public schools. If you want your kids to have an education do home schooling. We did and our boys are not shy and can be around others just fine and their are people that are astonished how well they behave.

    When a pedophile wants a child to be sexually available, the groom them for the act. One way they do this is to sexualize them at an early age that is not appropriate. This has all the appearance of being the case, pedophiles in charge of education policy. It used to be they would be put in jail, now they get to educate young children.

    Grades 1 thru 12 should teach “Thou shall NOT commit adultery” but they shouldn’t explain “adultery”. That is for parents to do.
